A Brownie Hawkeye flash camera, which was introduced in 1949 and discontinued in 1961.
This weekend I made my way to the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market, which consisted of an assortment of odds and ends -- costume jewelry, cheap sunnies, a Dior trenchcoat, furs, vintage Playboys (wherein a 1978 issue I saw a very strange ad for Dingo boots featuring O.J. Simpson), old photographs of nameless faces and bizarre information pamphlets from the '50s. How do people get a hold of some of these things? I think I'll have to revisit, if not for the boxes upon boxes of old photographs and letters. It's strange to get a peek into someone's memories.
