Eugenia Volodina wears a belted floral jumpsuit from A.P.C.'s S/S 2014 lookbook.
Enduring the bitterly cold NYC weather this past week has me longing for spring. The A.P.C. Spring/Summer lookbook is a perfect way to get lost in thoughts of sunshine and warmer temperatures. When I think of the French brand, I think of minimalist and timeless design, as well as the famous proponents of the brand, from Sofia and Gia Coppola (who was featured in an ad campaign several years ago) to Kanye West.
To me, the lookbook evokes the late 1960s and '70s, with its A-line denim skirts, shift dresses, jumpsuits, belted shirtdresses and bell sleeves. My inspiration board shows a model in a Yves Saint Laurent jumpsuit from 1968, mods Pattie Boyd and Jill Kennington in fun prints, Cybil Shepherd and Linda Ronstadt rocking bell sleeves and Cheryl Tiegs in a Lilly Pulitzer belted shirtdress.
Here are some of my favorite looks:
